Fu Jow Pai is a complete martial arts system, and a tried and true method for self cultivation. To begin to understand the essence of the art, my Sifu, the late Shiu Yiu Kwan would have us recite the Fu Jow Pai salutation before each class:
Take on responsibility. Be fair and just. Fulfill your duties to the very best of your ability. Be truthful in all things, big and small. Cultivate patience. Be courageous. As a Fu Jow Pai martial artist, conduct yourself with justice and righteousness for all. Show humility, courtesy and humanitarian concern for all people.
